Hey Lady official music video by Parlor Jones with Debby Christy

The new Hey Lady official music by Parlor Jones with Debby Christy  is available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, CDBaby and many more streaming outlets.

The song Hey Lady is off the Elements album released earlier this year. This audio tracks to this song were completely re-recorded at Secret Garden Studios.

This song originally had a music video done in the mid-1980s and the original music video might still be found somewhere on the web but the original video iss one which Debby Christy a.k.a. Debra Christopher and I are both very proud of.

It was a pleasure working with Debby filmed at a night club, at the park and employing the use of a Metro taxi cab for one scene in Miami Florida. With the use of green screen technology I was able to piece together some old footage and some new footage in the studio giving new birth to the original concept of this song.

The chorus line is, “Hey Lady what’s it coming to? I’ve gotta get a message to you right now somehow. Hey Lady help me see it through. We’ve gotta get it straight before midnight”.

It was difficult trying to match the new video footage to the quality of the old beta tapes but the storyline still holds true and I am still just as proud of the new edited version as I was with the original. If I had one wish it would be to have had today’s technology when the original was filmed.

I hope you enjoy watching this video and I would like to extend a very special thanks to Debby Christy wherever you are today and I hope you enjoy watching the new video.

It took 60 years to write this song

It took 60 years to write this song. Well initially it only took a few weeks but from its inception to final commercial recorded release to the public took 60 years.

In 1958 I sat on my living room floor listening to my mom and dad and my aunt sitting around this old machine the left spools of vinyl thread everywhere. Well, by the time I was done playing with it. I think it was made by Victrola but I’m not sure. In any case it was a record cutting machine that would cut lacquer Audiodiscs from blanks. My parents would sit on the sofa in the living room singing the song lyrics and melody to “Our Love” and other songs into a  microphone, The initial recording was laid down in 1958 when I was only five years old. In fact, the intro to “Wanting To Share” on the same album Elements contains the audio of 5 year old Parlor singing “Jesus Loves The Little Children” from the same time period. It’s strange to have me as a five year old singing on a song that I wrote and recorded 60 years later.

For many years after I would listen to this original song “Our Love” played on a record player turntable and later transferred to cassette tapes, scratchiness and all. Only this past year did I decide to record a new version of it myself after contributing to the arrangement and song structure and releasing it for the first time on my 2018 album release “Elements”.

This song was recorded in my home studio using Presonus Studio One and all of the tracks and vocals were performed by me and my long time friend and great vocalist Jann Childers who contributed backing vocals.

So 60 years later “Our Love” is born and released to the public. The amazing thing to me is how reminiscent of a Beatles sounding song this finished recording is especially considering the fact that it was written primarily five years before the Beatles ever made their worldwide debut. I would have to say that it is my fond admiration of the Beatles writing and what they contributed to the world that added to the influence heard in this song.

You can listen to this song and others on my YouTube channel and you can also purchase it on any of the current streaming outlets such as CDBaby. Spotify, Amazon, iTunes, Rhapsody, Apple Music, GooglePlay and the list goes on. I hope you enjoy listening to some of my music catalog and I look forward to creating and releasing more original music for you to listen to. Thank you for listening.

If you are looking for something to do in Orlando Florida today you have come to the right place.

Whether you live in Florida or are new to the area on vacation you owe it to yourself to visit the Jolly Gator Fish Camp located just east of Sanford Florida on route 46.

This venue is privately run by a wonderful family and they offer delicious food and live music on the St. Johns River on the southern side of Lake Harney.

There’s also a small playground and picnic area for families and an air-conditioned inside restaurant as well as airboat rides. The Parlor Jones Project band has hosted an open jam for close to seven years every Sunday from 2 PM to 6 PM. This music event is very popular and draws musicians and fans from miles away. They play a variety of music from classic rock to blues and some things in between. Seasoned musicians as well as new musicians are always welcome to join us on stage and it’s always lots of fun for everyone.

Plenty of parking and nothing else around it except the natural beauty of wildlife.

Come on out and see what I’m talking about and I’m sure it will be a pleasant memory for a lifetime.

Dean Resonator Electric Guitar Review

Dean Resonator Electric Guitar Review

Dean Resonator Electric Guitar Review shown played through an amp and without. Playing slide guitar or bottleneck guitar is a prominent sound in blues music especially Delta blues.

In this video I explain the difference between glass slides and metal slides and show you you the difference. Slide guitar sounds great when applying some reverb which is made possible by playing the guitar amplified. This particular amp is the Fender Frontman 25 with the Ragin Cajun Eminence 10″ speaker with the upgrade I showed in a previous video searchable in my playlist.

This guitar sounds great played acoustic or electric.

SPECIAL THANKS to so many talented people in O’Town

I appreciate the fact that so many friends have shown support of what I have been doing in the central Florida music scene and for your comments on social media. I would not be where I am today without all of you and what you have done. I hear people say I deserve successes because of the hard work I do but it is all of you that have worked hard too and for my benefit no less.

I would like to start by thanking the following people for their support and hard work in making the new music releases possible over the past years. You either inspired some of the songs or co-wrote them or you worked on them in the studio or you donated to the cause with gear and to you I am ever so grateful.

I would like to thank my wife Marti Davids first and foremost for traveling this journey with me for the past 27 years through the good times and the not so good times. You stuck with me through all of it and you deserve a medal at the very least.

On another front, a new digital album of more original tunes is in the works and hopefully will be released very soon.

Today I was approved as a certified artist by Spotify and if you feel like following me on Spotify, I would also appreciate that as they are a very well recognized digital streaming outlet worldwide and the exposure that could result is immeasurable.
